Today’s reading raises several questions,

Who did Cain, Able and Seth marry? The most probable answer was they married their sisters or nieces. The bible does say the Adam and Eve had other children. Additionally the bible does not say how old Cain and Abel were when Cain murdered Abel so it is likely they already had children and/or grandchildren.

Who were the “Sons of God” and the “Nephilim”? Whenever the “Sons of God” are referenced in the Old Testament it is referring to angels. Thus the most likely theory is that the “Sons of God” were fallen angels that had offspring with human women. These offspring were called the “Nephilim” which translates as “fallen ones” There other views and theories and I encourage you all to investigate!!

My final comments on today’s reading is how our current world is so very similar to the post flood world. Genesis 6:5 says “The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time.”

That’s all for today – Thank you for participating
